How does it enlarge a photo?
MacnifyIt calculates a larger image from the pixels in your source, using Lanczos-3 resampling in linear light. It does not invent detail. The comparison above shows what that method does at output size.
Will my photos leave my Mac?
No. Photos are processed locally and never uploaded, and the app has no analytics. MacnifyIt connects to the internet only to activate a licence and to renew it quietly about once a month, sending your licence code and a hashed Mac identifier to our activation provider, Cloudflare, which also receives your IP address; nothing else is sent. Purchasing happens through Paddle, which is separate from photo processing, and this website uses aggregate, cookieless analytics from Cloudflare.
What is Lanczos-3, and why “exact”?
A resampling filter that calculates each output pixel from nearby source pixels, used in imaging pipelines for decades. “Exact” means this stated method, applied in linear light. It does not mean the larger file contains detail the source never captured.
Does it sharpen?
Only if you switch sharpening on. It is off in every comparison on this page, so you can judge the resampling itself.
Can I use it for client work?
Yes. The licence covers personal and commercial use, including client work. You remain responsible for having permission to use the source photographs.
Can I enlarge AI-generated images?
Yes. Open a supported image file and choose the size. MacnifyIt uses Lanczos-3 resampling in linear light to enlarge the saved image. If your generator charges less for smaller images, drafting small can reduce generation costs. Enlarging cannot add missing detail, so check the result at 100% before exporting.
What if it isn’t for me?
Try it first: ten full-resolution exports are free, with unlimited previews, so you can judge the results on your own photos before paying. Because of that, all sales are final and we don’t offer refunds after purchase. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded by law are not affected; see the
Refund Policy.
